Following our story yesterday about blocked drains and gullies, the following has been received by Cllr Dave Siddorns from Highways at Cheshire East:

"Thank you for your email, I am pleased to inform you the gullies on Bagley Lane are programmed to be done next week.

"Green Lane Audlem drain was investigated earlier this year, I arranged a full drainage investigation of the system it was noted there was root infestation, a section of drain was replaced and the drain was fully functional when the gang left site.

"Hope this helps, please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information."

Mind you, the article has produced news of a further problem, this time on the Whitchurch Road. 57 Lawnman has written on the Chatbox:

"All the gullies along A525 Whitchurch Road from Copthorne Drive to Holly Bank/Weaver view are full with dirt and debris and no longer take any surface water away from the highway.

"This is not a new problem. I have reported this to the Parish Council and Cheshire East. We will see what happens. At times of heavy rain the water now cascades down both sides of the hill – lethal in times of frost and ice?"
