Last Monday's parish council meeting resulted in grants and donations being made to the Audlem Public Hall extension team and to The Parish Plan Community Projects group.

£500 was granted as seed-corn money for the planned Public Hall extension. With money already gained from ADCA and the Public Hall committee, this will enable APHEx (Audlem Public Hall Extension) to bid for larger funds to cover initial professional costs such as architect's fees which will enable the project to be taken forward up to the planning permission stage.

If that is achieved, the massive job of raising a large amount of money will get underway before any construction work can start.

£1,000 was granted to the Community Projects team, part of the Audlem Parish Plan, as matched funding to enable a bid to be made for additional funding from the Cheshire Police Commissioner for a film aimed at reducing anti-social behaviour and rural crime. The film will be produced by a local team and feature local actors and be shown on AudlemOnline.

The Community Projects team had also bid for funding for electronic display boards to promote events in the village. ThenMedia have developed a system which will allow the boards to to be updated remotely by the AudlemOnline team or by the premises where they are located.

As the meeting had a lengthy agenda and busy Public Forum, it was agreed to hold discussion of the latter bid over until the January parish council meeting.

The Parish Council is creating a new Grants and Donations policy and a draft was put forward at the meeting which councillors are now considering.
