Monday at the Festival

It's Bank Holiday Monday and the Festival goes into its fourth day with the added attraction of the Carnival. There's a packed programme for everyone to enjoy.

10:00am – Stitch TreasuresMethodist hall – with Pinfold Textile Artists & South Cheshire Embroiderers' Guild. The last day of this eclectic mix of textile art to stimulate the mind and please the eye. This is a major exhibition of local textile art. Exhibition co-ordinator Annemarie McGuinness.

10:00am – 'Demented Values'Methodist Hall Foyer – exhibition with Sophie Mazingarbe

11:00am – Ro & CalThe Coffee Lounge – start your day with a coffee and a cake and listen to two talented young local singer/guitarists.

1:00pm – The Duffey BoysBlues Alley – Performing on home territory and back in Blues Alley for the first time in 3 years, the boys will have some new original songs along with some old favourites, all performed in their own original style.

2:00pm – ChloeLord Combermere – Chloë Chadwick is a stunning singer/songwriter/guitarist based in South Cheshire. Initially cutting her teeth as a performer playing sets around the French Alps and the Balearics from 2003 – 2006, to literally thousands of people, Chloë moved back to England ready for more in 2007. She hit the ground running with a storming set at Liverpool's famous 'Cavern Club'. Plans for 2009 include extensive, nationwide touring with her new band, the release of new original material, some European gigs, and appearances at Summer Festivals.

3:00pm – Pete PriceShroppie Fly – a great Audlem Festival favourite.

3:00pm – The Festival folk/acoustic sessionThe Bridge Inn – Inspired by the famous Audlem Monday night session, a collection of acoustic and traditional music played on a variety of instruments. All welcome to join in. Just bring an instrument or voice and meet the locals.

3:30pm – The ReadsLord Combermere – The Reads made their Audlem debut on a windy Sunday afternoon at last year's festival. They've spent the past year writing, recording and playing and are regularly on at Telfords Warehouse in Chester . Working with a drummer for the first time has meant that they've been able to add new songs to their regular, electronic set. They're looking forward to playing at this year's festival and hope that people enjoy the music.

4:30pm – Cajo FunkBlues Alley – Cajo Funk brings together the talents of Carl Brunsdon on Sax and John Gunstone on Piano. Carl regularly tours the world with the Australian Pink Floyd show having just returned from the European tour. John plays with Bernie Marsden, Heavy Weather, and plays Hammond organ with London based blues guitarist Otis Grand.

6:00pm – RelixThe Lord Combermere – The Relix present a faithful and dynamic tribute to pop/rock's greatest tracks. With their magnificent repertoire of songs they have rapidly built their reputation as a good time band. You'll hear every aspect of music from the early 60's sounds of The Beatles and The Kinks, the rhythm & blues of The Rolling Stones to the folk-rock of The Eagles and soft rock of Tom Petty, with a nod to the Punk era and plenty of Rock & Roll!. Whether you are a 'Hippie', 'Mod' or 'Rocker', as Sergeant Pepper says ... "A splendid time is guaranteed for all!".

8:00pm – Festival Chilli Night featuring Mark StevensLord Combermere – The now famous Audlem Chilli Night moves location to make a special appearance at the Lord C, bringing it's growing reputation for introducing new acts to the area, whether they are up and coming new or established acts the night creates an amazing atmosphere to showcase talent...as well as having a great time!

This Chilli night features the seriously talented Mark Stevens, playing an acoustic set.Mark has been playing and singing for 15 years... the last ten as a solo artist. Playing a varied style of music which comprises of generally crowd pleasing cover versions of popular songs from the last 3 decades. Such as: Crowded House, Stereophonics, David gray, the Kaiser Chiefs, the Killers, Bryan Adams, Oasis and the Zutons to name but a few. Mark doesn't use backing tracks... and adds an original twist to the songs!

9:00pm – Johnny Miller All StarsShroppie Fly – The festival would not be complete without the Monday night jam session, hosted once again by ex-Billy J Kramer drummer, Johnny Miller. A collection of soul and rock classics will be expertly accompanied by many of the musicians who have performed earlier in the Festival. Johnny intends to break with tradition this year performing the Bobby Troup song 'Route 66'!

9:00pm – Ian LawtonThe Bridge Inn – Acoustic guitar music with songs of the flavour of Oasis, Robbie Williams and more. Modern contemporary rock music played and sung beautifully.
