Well, Thursday 7th April 2011 will go down in Audlem history as the day the people of Audlem fell for a Manchester Band called Modern Alarms – and visa versa, Modern Alarms fell in love with the people of Audlem.

Leon Kenny the bass player sums it up best on his Facebook page:

"Tonight, in Audlem, was the best time I've ever had at a gig. Everybody made us feel so welcome, everyone was so friendly, everyone danced with us, and we even made a fairground game out throwing a tambourine at each other in an attempt the land it round the neck of your target person. Everybody got involved.

"One guy's nose bled, and I have bumps on my head. It was truly beautiful."

Another quote the following day from an Audlem resident: "Probably the best night we've had and there's been some good uns"

And this was a special night, Modern Alarms, four young lads from Manchester came to The Lord C. They started the set with "Voodoo Dancing Monkey Man" a tribute to their good friend who came with them and danced the night away whilst playing tambourine and for a solid hour blasted the audience with quality tune after quality tune.

The Lord C was full to the rafters and everyone stayed and danced the night away, including the Band, who once the set was finished remained and partied away.

The final quote from Dom the lead singer, "When I am rich I am moving here".

Special mention has to go to the support act playing their debut performance. Found Drowned were awesome and talks are in hand to get them back for a full set shortly.

So ladies and gentlefolk, Modern Alarms will be back soon. To find out when, join Fat Pigeon Lives mailing list at fatpigeonlive@gmail.com">fatpigeonlive@gmail.com for regular live music updates.

And thanks to all for making the band feel so welcome.
