Macmillan fundraiser at Leighton

Audlem villagers can help raise cash for a cancer support charity at a national fundraising event.

The Macmillan Cancer Unit at Leighton Hospital is staging a coffee and cake morning on Friday September 27th.

It is part of Macmillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning national even and volunteers at Leighton Hospital are inviting the public to join them.

Macmillan Cancer support manager Julie Pieczarka: "Last year we were the highest fundraisers in Cheshire, raising more than £3,700 and we are thrilled to be taking part in the event again this year.

Everyone is welcome to attend. As well as serving tea, coffee and cakes, there will be a raffle, with prizes donated by local companies.

Julie added: "Every penny raised on the day will go towards supporting more patients and families affected by cancer."
