What an exciting week it has been in school!
Miss Cooper was a special Christmas fairy at the end of last week, organising a wonderful surprise for our children by arranging for our Christmas tree to be on display to greet the children in the hall when they arrived in school on Monday.
This was followed by an afternoon that none of us will forget in a long time – I am sure you have heard all about our special visitor who flew in to share a magical afternoon with us all – if not please have a look at the photographs on our website and on AudlemOnline which give you a flavour of Santa's very special visit!
Our outdoor learning environment has been further enhanced with the development of our wonderful new firepit seating area. The wood was kindly chopped and prepared by Mr Preston after it was donated to school by one of his customers and we are tremendously grateful as it has created a wonderful seating circle for our outdoor work.
On Tuesday, Diamond Class held their Maths Coffee Morning which included Pirate Treasure Problem Solving and group work to find which treasure chest was the most valuable.
Children and adults needed to put their mathematical brains to the test but they all rose to the challenge and a great time was had by all. Thank you to all of the parents who came along to this special maths lesson.
On Wednesday, we said farewell to Reverand Jules in her last assembly at our school and wished her well as she moves to her new parish. The children sang a song for her and thanked her for all of her hard work and kindness during her time with our school.
On Thursday, Mrs Heathcock and Ruby Preston travelled to Winsford Educational Library for a special prize giving event for the Library Service's writing competitiion about the World Wars.
Ruby won a signed copy of a World War book for the school library with her entry; this is a wonderful acheivement as the judges said they had found judging very difficult due to the high standard of writing submitted.
Congratulations to our indoor athletics team who were winners at Monday evening's Sportshall Athletics Competition at Malbank. After some fantastic sporting performances, our school won both the Year 3/4 and the Year 5/6 competition and will now progress to the Crewe and Nantwich finals in February.
This is a wonderful achievement and we are all very proud of you all.
Many thanks to all of the staff and parents who have supported and helped the
team to do so well.
School has been a hive of activity preparing for our Christmas Fair which was held in school on Friday night from 5pm – 7pm. Members of FASA have been busy preparing tombola and raffle prizes as well as decorating our super grotto for Father Christmas to use!
A special mention to Mrs Thornton Jones and Mrs Goodwin and their supporting creative team who spent a lot of time getting the grotto looking perfect.
Thank you also to all of the families who have sent in cakes, crackers and other donations for this event. Events such as these would not be possible without your generous contributions.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the FASA team for their continued hard work supporting our school. I am aware there have been a number of events this term and that all parents and children have worked hard to make a success of each of them.
We are very lucky to have such a supportive and committed community. Thank you.
The children at ABC Pre-school have been busy preparing for their Christmas Production. This takes place on Tuesday 16th December. The ABC team hope that the parents and carers of the 2 and 3 year olds who attend ABC can make it.
Does your child turn 2 before Christmas? If you would like them to start Nursery, even if it's just for a few hours a week, call for an informal chat. You might be entitled to a FREE place, please call Lynsey on 01270 669050.
As we draw close to the end of term, I would like to thank all of our super volunteers who have been coming into school each week to support in different classes across school.
This support has made a real difference in school this term and we look forward to working with you again next term.
R Jewitt
