LongARS to Cannock Chase

It's the ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk around Cannock Chase tomorrow.

Led by John Tilling, it's meet up on Audlem car park at 8.30am. The walk is about 9 or 10 miles, and could be extended a bit on the day if required.

The going was amazingly good underfoot on the recce this week given recent rains. There are no stiles and no fields with cows, sheep or whatever. Very little of the route is along metalled roads. Dogs should be fine unless they have an aversion to the occasional cyclist or horse.

There is ample parking (£3 for the day) at the visitor centre where there are toilets. Unfortunately the main café is closed for renovation, but there is a small café-hut which is promised to be open on Saturday.

The weather forecast for Saturday looks to be cold but sunny weather.
