At a recent meeting of Audlem Parish Council, Councillor Richard Furber was thanked for his long service to the community on the Parish Council by Chairperson, Mrs Heather Jones. as he retired.

In a brief ceremony to mark his long service, Cllr. Jones reminded the council that Richard, who stepped down in May, had served since December 1989.

He was chairman when the Parish Plan and the Village Design Statement were created, both important documents to the community of Audlem, and was also instrumental in the management of Longhill Moss. He has been an excellent and valued advocate for the agricultural community and the Parish Council continue to draw on his knowledge and wisdom.

Richard was thanked for his many years service and presented with a framed hand painting of a Shropshire Street by local artist Sheila Webster.
