Peter Kay has kindly volunteered to lead the February walk in the Bridgnorth area on Saturday 9 February, leaving Audlem Car Park at 8.30 am.
His description:-
An 8.5 mile walk in the hills and woods to the east of Bridgnorth.
The walk starts from the Stanmore Country Park car park (approximate postcode WV15 5HN. Grid reference SO741 928) and then traverses high above Bridgnorth and the River Severn to reach Rindleford. Staying close to the River Worfe it reaches Roughton and then returns southwards to Stanmore.
It is an easy/moderate 3 boot walk with about 1000ft climbing. Those who have problems with vertigo please note some sections are on narrow paths with drops to one side.
Departure from Audlem Public Hall car park 8.30.
NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.
Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.
Non-members of ARS are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
