Local young gentleman in Big Brother

Many may not have noticed that a local young gentleman – read on and you can see why the alliterative 'lad' was not used – is currently in the TV show Big Brother, now screened on Channel 5.

The many to have missed this, we have to confess, includes the Audlem Online webteam whose visits to Channel 5 finished with the end of the cricket season. A pity, as the current Big Brother contestants include Harry Blake of nearby Hunsterson.

The 22-year old is a former pupil at Brine Leas which hopefully prepared him for a week on the show in close proximity to former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson. 

According to the Big Brother website: "Young, rich entrepreneur Harry considers himself upper class and says he is “150% Conservative”. The 22 year old runs three businesses and aims to be a millionaire at 25 and retire aged 35. Harry says: “all you’ve got to do is put in the work, like trying to get a six pack in the gym.”

"Harry lists Chinese Kick Boxing and looking after his race horses as his hobbies. He is in a relationship but says when it comes to females, his type of girl is tall, slim, brunette and must like the countryside.

"Harry enjoys the outdoors and says he would love to find a fellow lover of country pursuits in the house. He recently broke his ankle whilst skinny dipping in a friend’s moat.

"Harry hopes to bring “a touch of class” to the house. Winning is everything to Harry. He says he won’t be happy unless he makes it to the final.

"An interesting fact about Harry is that he claims to have bigger hands than anyone else he has ever met and doesn’t have a sense of smell."

According to comments posted – click on the website link below the photo – views on Harry are somewhat mixed ranging from the unprintable (on Audlem Online, that is) to the likes of: "Harry’s nice, probably one of the few genuine people in there," and "Just what we need a lovely bit of culture. Cannot be doing with all of this gang slang. Come on Harry do your self proud."

South Cheshire has recent form in Big Brother with its prize of £100,000. Glamour model Sophie Reade from Nantwich won the show in 2009.
