A local team of riders have recently been crowned Champions at the British Dressage Kent and Master Quest National Championships.

Izzy Maughan from Hankelow, Corrie and Ciara Mclellan from Nantwich and Shona Rooney from Hodnet, who are all part of the Cheshire Chicks team took the top spot at Bury Farm Equestrian Centre in Buckinghamshire in a competition which spanned 2 days. Izzy, who has been a member of the Cheshire Chicks since 2014, and who works the dressage rider Gemma Moss, at her yard near Audlem as well as Corrie also won 2nd place in the individual MyQuest Novice Championship which took place on the first day of the competition.

Janet Maughan, reserve rider and team manager says "The result is a massive achievement for the team which this year has had two new members – Ciara Mclellan and Shona Rooney. I am immensely proud of them all and it's fantastic to see local riders achieving success on a national level."

The BD Quest Kent and Masters National Championships is aimed at grassroots riders and showcases the very best from all around the country.
