A couple of weeks ago we featured this very special appeal on GoFundMe for a local lady suffering from a rare cancer. GoFundMe is a fund-raising website that may be new to many but it has been catching the attention of many generous people locally and further afield.

Its users rely on the support of their friends and family to help spread the word about a particular case and an Audlem focused group has just raised an extraordinary £8,469 to help treat a local Mum who has been diagnosed with a rare gall bladder cancer.

The cancer is not curable but it is treatable. However, due to an NHS technicality, the drug that she needs to accompany her chemo is not currently funded by the NHS. You can get all the details by visiting: GoFundMe.

It is heart-warming to see how many local people have already made donations. You can read more about this local case by clicking here to read www.mendourmum.co.uk

Daughters Terri and Hannah say on their very special website: "Hi, Thank you for looking at our site. We have set up Mend Our Mum because our lovely, kind, generous, gorgeous mum has developed a very aggressive cancer which is trying to take her away and we don't want to say goodbye.

"NHS drugs can only do so much but there is a successful treatment in the US which could make that time so very much longer.

"To get her this drug and improve her chances we need £100k but every little helps – no donation or idea is too small and every single pound makes a difference.

"We know cancer takes so many amazing people but our mum is a kind, special person who we want with us for a lot longer and we really need help from people like you to make this happen..  Please please get in touch and help us to Mend Our Mum.

"Thank you from Terri and Hannah"
