The Local Election result for Audlem was as follows:

BAILEY Rachel Anne (Conservative) received 1,451 votes or 79.86% of those cast.
TAYLOR Louise Mary (Labour) received 366 votes or 20.14% of those cast.

Rachel Anne Bailey (Conservative) was duly elected Cheshire East councillor for the Audlem ward.

There are 82 seats in Cheshire East Council, 5 uncontested and 2 seats for Crewe South will be contested on 16th June, due to the death of a candidate, leaving 75 contested seats in yesterday's election.

Of the 80 seats declared at 7.00pm today, 52 had been won by Conservative candidates (48.02% of votes cast); 14 by Labour candidates (26.09%) ; 10 by other candidates (13.23%) and 4 by Liberal Democrat candidates (12.66%).

With the two seats yet to be contested, the Conservatives have lost 6 seats, Labour have gained 8, Others have gained 6 and the Liberal Democrats have lost 8 seats compared with 2008.

Counting for the AV Referendum is now underway with the national result expected this evening.
