Audlem artist Annabel Thornton was short-listed for one of the art world's biggest prizes, the Wildlife Artist of the Year exhibition at London's Mall Galleries.

Annabel's painting 'Night Life' competed with 135 other pieces that had been chosen from works around the world for the £10,000 top prize.

Annabel said she was conscious of pastoral images from an early age and continued to develop her passion at an early age at Cheltenham College of Art where she gained a BA Fine Arts degree.

Since turning professional she has concentrated on portraiture, figure in movement along with work on natural form.

The result of the competition was announced last week and a sculptor based in Cher, France was named the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundations' 2016 Wildlife Artist of the Year.
