Lead thieves steal St James' roof

Thieves have returned to St James' church and stolen lead from the North aisle roof of the church sometime in the last 24 hours.

They approached, we believe, from the end by the Post Office, broke the floodlight and then stripped off the roof lead. Police and insurance have been informed.

The lead was marked with the 'Smart Water DNA' we have used on the entire roof so we hope they will have trouble selling it on.

If anyone saw anything suspicious please contact the police.
