Latest on Berni in Houston (Updated)

Went again last night and Berni was sitting in the chair watching TV.

She is still very weak and looks very frail but she was in better spirits. She is on a stronger painkiller now which is better but she just keeps nodding off every ten minutes or so (not much new there then!).

The doctor said with the strength of painkiller she is now on he can't believe she is even waking up at all, but I think its best that they control the pain at the moment.

They hope to have her walking a little today, there is no sign of her being able to eat or drink yet she is craving for a drink of water.

I keep telling her who has emailed texted etc and it really gives her a boost, just going back there now and don't think we will be coming back to the flat today so will let you you know any updates tomorrow.

It's said to be 114 degrees today.

Update this afternoon: Berni is out of intensive care today and back on the ward. They are hoping to get her walking today or tomorrow.
