The window display at Hoc's Fat Pigeon has created a lot of interest. Fronting the bookshop, it has been created by Kirstie Gleave.
#Kirstie's Dream
‘The Dream’ Installation is by Kirstie Gleave who is currently studying a foundation Degree in Contemporary Art Practice.
Commented Kirstie, "This installation explores a reccurring dream I had as a child of being alone in a wood and feeling fearful for my safety, the ability of being able to turn my arms into wings was paramount."
She goes on to explain "This body of work focuses on the comforting aspect of being able to escape by means of flight, exploring the metamorphic qualities of the imagination that seize an object within my dream and turn it into something different, something reassuring and desirable. The fear of feeling trapped or the ‘imagined’ dangers concealed by the trees and the birds are conveyed through the objects escaping or emerging."
It will be on display for next few days.
