This is our headline, not Becky's.
Becky Jewitt, Head of Audlem St James School, asked us to highlight yet again the problem of dog fouling in the paths where the school children walk to school.
It is hard to imagine a more anti-social act than to allow dogs to foul an area where our children are likely to come into contact with the resulting mess – AudlemOnline has a direct interest in this matter in that one of the members of the AudlemOnline team lost 40% of the vision of the right eye due to contracting toxocariasis as a toddler.
Becky writes:-
The pavement outside our Children's Entrance on Heathfield Road has been highlighted to me by a number of parents as having a lot of dog fouling over recent weeks.
We discussed this matter at our recent Parent Forum meeting and we will be updating our dog fouling posters made by the children in September to remind users of this and other local footpaths, to clear up after their dogs in the interest of hygiene for all of the children coming into to school each day.
I have copied Nick Jarvis into this email so he is aware of this matter too.
