Each month, the AudlemOnline team sends a 500-word article about the village to the publishers of the Whitchurch Gossip and Market Drayton Gossip magazines.

These excellent publications are widely (and freely) distributed in North Shropshire and many in Audlem see a copy, particularly of the Whitchurch magazine. Many of our readers, however, are outside their distribution area.

We thought you might like to read what we said about the village this month in the June
issues:

Massive Audlem Events this summer

Over forty Union flags went up, as did the bunting, in late May to welcome in the village's Festival season.

As the Audlem Music and Arts Festival committee promised, this year's event saw the first arrival of decent sunshine meaning an amazingly successful Saturday and Sunday, and the forecast rain for Carnival Monday even held off much long than expected.

The weekend after (1st and 2nd of June) saw the Audlem RNLI Festival at Overwater Marina with a huge range of entertainment for all the family, for narrow boat enthusiasts and anyone who simply wanted to support one of Britain's most important charities. Audlem Lass provided a water taxi service between the marina and the bottom of Audlem Locks.

There's much more coming up on the Audlem Festival scene with two big ASET (Audlem Special Events Team) and the ADAS (Audlem District Amenities Society) Open Gardens weekend.

ADAS are re-introducing the Open Gardens event this year on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June and have had a very good response to their initial request for participants. Gardening, and visiting gardens, is such a pleasing pastime and to share the growing and variety of flowers and vegetables can be very rewarding. Look out for more details on AudlemOnline over the coming weeks.

Saturday 6th July will see Audlem's Playing Fields transformed once more into the setting for one of the most enjoyable nights of the year in the Audlem calendar. Anyone who attended last year's Party on the Park is sure to agree.

This year ASET have lined up two acts that will not disappoint. First up will be 'The Bee Gees Experience', who will get everyone dancing as they take the crowd through their early years right into a NIGHT FEVER. Any John Travoltas will not be able to resist the temptation of showing off their moves.

Then the most sought after tribute band of the last six years and the first Take That tribute in the UK – 'FAKE THAT' will take to the stage. Simulating the original five piece line up, the hits will keep rolling from the most successful boy band ever: this is one show not to be missed!

Tickets are currently on sale at the fantastic early bird price of £12.50 for Adults (this is a reduction of £7.50 off the normal price.) Children £6 (under 5s are free), Family ticket £32 (2 adults, 2 children.) There are also a few Gazebo spaces remaining. Box office 01270 811211 or you can buy tickets on-line at www.audlem-aset.org

Looking ahead into July, Sunday 28th July will see Audlem Transport Festival. This will be the 13th Annual Festival and follows a record-breaking attendance last year both in terms of vehicles and crowds attending. The event will begin with a procession of vehicles from Hankelow to Audlem and will feature attractions for the whole family.

Details of Audlem's many attractions, live music etc are published on AudlemOnline with many fresh news items every single day of the year.
