Jessie's February poem

Local poet Jessie has sent in her poem for February.

February

Here we are, here we are,
Here we are again.
Happy as can be,
All good friends
And jolly good company.

Never mind the weather,
Never mind the rain,
The gales, the frost or the snow -
Because we have a special day this month
And that should ease the pain.

We have Valentine's Day!
A romantic day with a capital "R".
Romance is in the air.
Valentine cards everywhere -
To send to our loved ones -
Secretly of course!

There are the red roses to buy,
Boxes and boxes of chocolates
Tied up with big red bows.
Notes with loving wishes,
Poems too – but only to be signed
"From me to you"

Don't let the weather get you down
Don't wear a frown
Look to March – wearing its mantle of Spring
