Improvements to buy/sell

We have received a number of e-mails from people trying to use the buy/sell facility on AudlemOnline and encountering problems.

The top technical brains behind AoL have sweated some midnight oil (and, more importantly, missed some valuable pub time) in resolving these issues. Some changes and improvements have now been implemented which should resolve the problems – please let us know if you still encounter difficulties.

• We found that if there is an apostrophe in the item description (e.g. "girl's bike") then an attempt to enquire would always fail – this has been rectified.
• When typing in the security letters, the system expected lower-case letters although the letters required sometimes look like upper-case. The system now accepts security letters in either case.
• If the entry is rejected then the system now clears out the security letters entered, rather than leaving the ones previously typed.

We have also put a process into the system that automatically removes old items after 60 days.
