Yesterday, when we first ran the story of Peter and Janet Morgan's escape from the devastation of Christchurch Cathedral in New Zealand, there was one niggling problem that made us hestitate before publishing this dramatic news.

In this world of sick thieves who turn up at the homes of the deceased when they know the funeral is taking place, should we break one of Audlem Online's cardinal rules which is: don't reveal somebody local is away from home on holiday.

We are pleased to clarify that the Morgan's house is occupied by a house sitter (can't say if they are ex-Paras or Marines etc) during their absence and that a very large dog is at home too that will defend his property to the death.

Incidentally, an ex-Audlem resident, Janet Simmons, loves the village so much she is happy to provide a house-sitting service in the area. She can be contacted on 07538 961238 and will be pleased to discuss terms and conditions.
