For the first meeting of the History Society after the summer break this Thursday we look forward to welcoming Dorothy Nicolle, a professional speaker in all senses of the word.

She is a Blue Guide for towns in Shropshire and has written many books about them. We have heard her speak on 'Brother Cadfael' and 'the life of Telford' recently and she never disappoints. There is usually a wealth of photographs.

This time the subject of the talk is the history of Shrewsbury, a town which can easily be visited (use ADAPT's transport links!).

Visitors are always welcome and if you join at the September meeting it only costs £5 for the next three meetings and the chance of going to the Christmas dinner!

Please be at the Scout and Guide Hall by about 7.15pm so that the meeting can start promptly at 7.30pm.

Refreshments are served afterwards at a modest price!
