This Monday could see even more Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) through the village than normal. Part of the A51 Nantwich to Woore road is being closed for bridge repairs at Walgherton so vehicles are being diverted through Audlem.

The official notice says: "The alternative route for HGVs over 7.5 tonnes during the works will be via A530 Peter De Stapleigh Way, Nantwich; A529 Audlem Road, Hankelow; A529 Cheshire Street, Audlem; A525 Stafford Street, Audlem; A525 Woore Road, Buerton.

"The closure is necessary to enable Cheshire East Council to carry out bridge parapet works. It is anticipated that the works will commence on Monday 29th June 2009 and will take 1 day to complete."
