Hankelow village plans to re-ignite its annual village bonfire and fireworks display next November.
The Hankelow bonfire was traditionally lit each November on Hankelow Village Green
But the event was moved to a field in front of Hankelow Hall over concerns for public safety.
The annual village celebration was eventually abandoned in favour of the bonfire and fireworks display in neighbouring Audlem.
Now villagers want to restore their own bonfire party which was first lit up in 1977.
They will hold this year's event in the park at Hankelow Hall and hope to spark interest from villagers.
Local people have been urged to join a working party and anyone interested should contact Bev Shenton on 812222 or 07976 61976.
