Green bin to finish

When emptying my green bin the other day, the men told me that this bin is to be withdrawn and all items from the green will go into the silver bin.

News to me but does AOL have any info?
Audlem Online adds: We were told exactly the same on Thursday – the Green bin collections will cease at the end of March.

Incidentally...they also said that we keep the green bin for our own use which prompted a discussion over a "few" drinks the other night as to what we could do with it. Suggestions so far:
-portable water butt
-hen house
-dog kennel (for Daschund)
-ice bucket for parties etc
-2012 Audlem Green Bin Olympics!

Audlem Online says: Any other suggestions welcome. Will the Green bin fit in the Black bin if you don't want to keep it, we wonder. Looks like a tight fit but experiments will be carried out shortly.

How long will it be, we wonder, before we return to 'one bin' collections each week? Will waste separation be one of the first casualties of Cheshire East cuts?
