Gladman appeal is officially registered

The Gladman planning appeal has been officially registered with the Planning Inspectorate.

The move kicks off the appeal process for Gladman Developments' application for consent to build up to 120 homes on land near Little Heath, Audlem.

The Case Officer for appeal number APP/R0660/A/13/2204723 is Steven Heyward and, as the appeal has been marked as an 'inquiry', there is likely to be a public hearing at a date and place to be announced.

Cheshire East Council will most probably be asked to arrange the inquiry venue. Inquiries are usually held in council offices, village halls or community centres.

The timetable for planning appeals is very strict. Gladman must send in an appeal form and supporting documents within two weeks of the start of the appeal and Cheshire East must send its documentation within six weeks.

Both Cheshire East and Gladman are obliged to pass all representations made to them to the Inspector including copies of any letters of support or objection it received about the application while considering it.

These will be fully considered by the Inspector who decides the appeal but, if you made no comments during the application stage or if you have something new to say, you can send the Inspector your comments.

The inquiry date is then set, normally 20 – 22 weeks from the appeal start date and a public notice must be made four weeks before the inquiry.

Nearly all appeals are decided by Planning Inspectors but a very small percentage are 'called in' to be decided by the Secretary of State – these tend to be the very large or contentious proposals.

Local people are encouraged to take part in the inquiry process and any individual or group that wants to take part should contact the Planning Inspectorate as early as possible.
