Michael Thompson, Team Leader at Audlem Community First Responders, has just completed and passed his advanced training as part of the North West Ambulance Service pilot group. Ten First Responders passed in the whole of NWAS region.

He is now responding as an ECFR (extended skills CFR) as of this week.

Andy Ruscoe Icke began his six month training last month and will be operational in February 2013.

In effect this means the Audlem First Responders will be responding to a wider set of emergency calls than at present.

Audlem representatives have taken the lead in pushing for this advanced training for Community First Responders and are delighted that years of negotiation with NWAS have resulted in this major step forward.
