Our Village Has Officially Lost the Plot (In the Best Possible Way). This weekend, our lovely little village -- normally known for its tranquil charm, excellent pub snacks, and suspiciously competitive food outlets -- transforms into a riot of music, art, colour, and mild logistical chaos for our beloved Music and Arts Festival!
To all our visitors, whether you've rocked up with a camper van, cruised in on a canal boat, or simply stumbled out of your house in search of the source of that banjo solo -- we are thrilled to have you. Campers, boaters, wanderers, accidental festival-goers -- welcome. You now live here, emotionally if not legally.
None of this would be happening without the village's mighty volunteer crew, a tireless band of locals who have given up sleep, sanity, and the ability to look at a spreadsheet without flinching. They've hauled gear, painted signs, wrangled performers, and said things like "it'll be fine" with increasing levels of desperation -- all for the love of music, community, and possibly free beer.
And let's raise a (recyclable) cup to the stars behind the scenes, The Shires Energy Hub, who have turned our three wonderful pubs into proper music stages -- built with blood, sweat, tears, and a frankly irresponsible number of extension leads. These stages have been lovingly constructed, tested, repaired, and possibly sworn at -- but by some miracle, they're standing tall and ready to rock.
So grab a drink, find a stage, follow the music, and maybe don't ask what's holding the bunting up. It's probably best we all just believe in the power of hope and duct tape.
We hope you sing, dance, laugh, and fall head over heels in love with our village -- just like we do, every time we pull off this mad but magical weekend.
Let the festival begin! And if you see a volunteer looking dazed but proud, give them a hug (or at least a biscuit). They've earned it.
