Father Christmas at Overwater

Despite the inclement weather Father Christmas made another visit to the area on Saturday when he arrived at Overwater Marina by narrowboat. This was a special treat organised by the crew of the Overwater Wheelyboat, for children from Cheshire Buddies.

The Cheshire Buddy Scheme supports children and young people with disabilities to help them access activities which they wouldn't normally have the opportunity to be involved with. Their visit was assisted by The Morgan Foundation which supports charities across North Wales, Merseyside, parts of Cheshire and North Shropshire.

Father Christmas was also good enough to stay on for a little longer to allow any passers by the chance to hand over their Christmas lists and this was very much appreciated! Father Christmas also chose the winning ticket in the Win a Hamper fundraiser for the RNLI – the winning number was 179.

Thanks must go to the Overwater Wheelyboat Team and in particular Dave and Sue Johnson who not only provided the use of their narrowboat, but who did a fantastic job of transforming the Marina Reception. Finally we must say a huge thank you to Father Christmas himself who, despite it being at his busiest part of his year, found the time to make the visit.
