A fascinating tale coming up on Audlem Online

Very soon, we plan to publish a first hand war-time tale involving Audlem. Imagine you are a five-year-old living on Guernsey in the Channel Islands. It's 1940 and the German armies are sweeping towards you across France. The authorities give Channel Islanders the chance to evacuate their children and many get out in the nick of time.

A family of children is sent to the Audlem area. It will be their new home for the next five years until at last, in 1945, they can be re-united with their parents who have lived through five years of occupation.

One of those children has a great affection for his war-time home to this day. He has sent Audlem Online his story which will be published as our next article – very soon.
