Farewell to the Crane

A familiar landmark at the Littleheath end of the village is disappearing before our eyes today (Monday).

The big yellow crane with two red lights at the top at night (to warn any low flying aeroplanes?) that has been located at the McCarthy & Stone development for the last few months is being dismantled piece by piece with the help of another, more mobile, big crane. It will all be gone by tonight we are told by one of the crew.

Some will miss it as a spectacle to watch, whilst others will be heartily glad to see the back of it.
