Phew! I imagine many of the organisers of the Audlem Festival are patting themselves on their backs for a job well done and the South Cheshire Branch of the Embroiderers Guild are no exception.

Nearly 500 people passed through the doors of the Methodist Church Hall over the three days to see the exhibition and were not disappointed.

Men and women, young and old, all had favourable comments – one young man was heard to say "There's better stuff here than at my art college". High praise indeed! The team that organised the display was justifiably proud of all the members' work that was on show and were pleased that all their hard work was appreciated.

Visitors enjoyed watching demonstrations of various techniques by some of our members and many went round the exhibition more than once, the majority with looks of concentration on their faces – what was that about?

Oh yes, trying to decide who to vote for in the "Peoples Choice" Competition, sponsored by Sue Poole, from the Flower Company and Debbie & Vernon from the Salad Bowl. The votes are to be counted and the winners announced at our next meeting on the 17th June. Watch this space!
