Ella's golf success

Ella McClintock, now aged 14, started playing golf at Brookfield Golf Club in 2008. Since then she's enjoyed great success and has recently been selected for Cheshire to play in the Menorca Under 16 Open on the Balearic island.

Ella was taught and coached initially by Brookfield's club pro Rob Ashbrook and, we are told, couldn't have wished for better tuition anywhere. She then moved to Crewe, Haslington and became the only girl in their Junior Academy.

A couple of months at Crewe led to her being put forward for successful trials for Cheshire Junior Girls. With Cheshire she has been Under 14 Champion; has won in various county matches and has won in matches against Cheshire Senior Ladies and the Cheshire Ladies 'B' team.

At the Crewe club level she's had similar success as the Junior Handicap winner and with a number of monthly medal wins. She's also won medal competitions at Brookfield and was winner of the Ladies Club Championship this year and was runner-up in 2009 in the Captain's Day for Ladies competition.

With this level of success, Ella is receiving invitations to compete in major competitions – the Mid Cheshire Junior Open and the English Junior Girls Championship. She currently plays off a handicap of 13.

Ella was delighted recently to receive a gift of golf balls and golf shirts from Joseph Heler Cheese as a reward for her achievements. As you can imagine, her family in Audlem are also very proud of her golfing success.
