Elections Verification/Counts Timetable for Cheshire East:

The verification (strict numerical count of papers) will take place for all elections from 10pm on Thursday 6 May – at Crewe and Macclesfield leisure centres.

The Police and Crime Commissioner count proper, of ballots, will start at 10am on Saturday 8 May at Macclesfield Leisure Centre only.

Please note: Halton Borough Council is responsible for announcing and publishing the result of the Cheshire PCC election, once it has aggregated the voting figures from across the Cheshire borough authorities.

The counts for the CEC borough by-election for Crewe West, and for all town/parish and Neighbourhood Plan referenda will be on Sunday 9 May at Macclesfield Leisure Centre only. The borough/town and parish counts will start at 11am and the NPRs are due to start at 1pm.

It is not anticipated that any media will wish to attend either the verification or counts – due to the staggered timings over the weekend and the fact the results will be put online in a timely manner once results are known.

If you wish to attend any part of the verification/counts, you will need to apply in advance and arrange accreditation. Proof of ID will be required – as well as a face covering and social distancing being strictly observed – before being allowed in to observe the count/verification from a balcony viewing area.
