Donna Louise Hospice Quiz Night

Last night the Lord Combermere was packed to the rafters with 23 teams of players attending the big charity quiz in aid of this very wonderful Hospice for children – covering Staffordshire and Cheshire.

The Hospice was founded in 2000 and is headquartered at Trentham.

We had many new faces joining in with both the fun and the determination to do well for this truly good cause. There was a good raffle and a valiant attempt in very difficult conditions of auctioning off the great prizes.

These were a free MOT donated by Desmond Mullock, a fantastic huge basket of fruits donated by Ian Jones of Hankelow and a superb car valet by Matthew Bonnell of Buerton. All were sold and the grand total given to May Hunter as the Donna Louise representative was £420.

A well earned "thank you" to bubbly Brittany. Also to Pauline Griffiths and her team of sellers. Thanks too to the Lord Combermere team for hosting the night with masses of free food. And most of all to you, the quiz players for helping in the success and the fun of the night.

We will hold another charity quiz in the near future – again for a local good cause but, in the meantime, the ever popular quiz night continues each Tuesday – every week.
