ThenMedia launches the Dementopad

Have you ever gone upstairs for something and by the time you get there you have forgotten what you have come up for?
Worse still, in a three-storey house you climb to the second floor by which time you have altitude sickness and can't remember who you are, let alone why you have climbed all those stairs.

Well, leading edge technology company Thenmedia, based in Audlem, Cheshire, has the answer – the "Dementopad".

This is a small A5 size touch screen with an electronic pen. You can write on it, wipe things out, draw diagrams, whatever. Its intelligence comes from a raspberry PI device using Thenmedia's award-winning operating system, TMPI.

The real benefit comes from having several Dementopads, one on each floor, say, because they are connected together using the house wi-fi system so that whatever is entered on one of them automatically appears on the others.

The computer power behind the system is housed on state-of-the-art servers in Manchester, which means that a Dementopad in Australia can "talk" to a Dementopad in Audlem, saving all those pesky e-mails, Facebook messages and the rest.
