We recently received this message from Robert Howells

My name is Robert Howells I am a postman based at Audlem S.P.D.O. (Sub Post Office Delivery Office) which is now based in Crewe. I have worked in the village for the past 8 years and have been involved in the life of the community and its members for about 15 years and I am well known to the local residents.

You may be aware that on the 28th March 2014 my daughter died suddenly from SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) at the young age of 22 years. In March 2015 we held an event to help raise funds for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) a charity that pioneers research into YSCD and other cardiac conditions that affect young people and provides support to families affected by these conditions.

This event was generously supported by Audlem residents and businesses and I am pleased to say that the event raised over £2,400. Since then we have held several other events and the memorial fund now stands at over £12,000. We are raising the money in my daughter's memory, to fund local free CRY heart screenings for young people aged 14-35 to check for hidden heart conditions.

We have now booked 2 dates in 2018 in Nantwich and Crewe and are on the final push to raise the funds needed to provide these screenings. On Friday 19th May we are holding a Charity Fashion Show and entertainment evening at Malbank School and it is our hope that this event will give a major boost to the fund and enable us to fully fund the local screenings.
I would like to ask the editorial team to consider featuring this event on AudlemOnline to help us publicise the event. The fashion show aims to help people find out more about SADS and Young Sudden Cardiac Death (YSCD) and the free screenings that CRY provides , whilst also having a fun night out.

Please see the attached a poster and photograph. I hope the team feels able to support me in spreading the word about this worthy cause and the vital work does in helping to save young lives. If you need any more info please feel free to
