After last week's big win in Division 3 of the Cheshire Cricket Alliance, Audlem 1st XI came back down to earth with a bump, losing at Rostherne by 9 wickets. The home side won the toss and put Audlem in to bat first on an uneven track. Only Dave Parry (19), Tom Measures (18) and Lyndon Woodcock (18) reached double figures as Audlem crashed out for only 80. In reply, Rostherne cruised to victory, losing only one wicket, Woodcock being the successful bowler. Rostherne gained 20 points and Audlem 3.

Hosting league newcomers, Didsbury, the 2nd XI managed to draw their Division 5 game. Didsbury batted first and scored a massive 297 for 6, with Greg Brierley hitting 118. Pick of Audlem's bowlers was Roy Wilde with 3 for 91. Chris Hardwick, Ian Chalker and Andy Jinks all got one wicket each. In reply, Audlem got off to a steady start as Steve Ellsmore and Norman Hindle put on 46 for the first wicket. A mini collapse saw 5 wickets fall for just 16 more runs as Didsbury went for the kill. The old heads of John Eve, Terry Tynan and skipper, John Wainwright saw Audlem through to the end of play with the score at 109 for 6. Didsbury claimed 13 points and Audlem 5.

Next week there's a double header against local rivals Haslington, with the 1st XI at home and the 2nd XI travelling the short distance to Clay Lane. Both matches start at 2pm.
