Creature from Audlem

Nigel Machin from Chapel End has written in with the following query:

"First of all congrats on a fantastic site, I check in everyday for updates and as a newcomer to the area it has been really valuable.

Whilst walking along the canal last Sunday my wife and I stumbled across the attached "creature" on the towpath (Kinsey Heath side). It was about 6 inch long and at first we thought it was a dead rat, but on closer inspection it maybe a dead piglet . If so why was it at the side of the canal? Any thoughts – perhaps your readers could explain?
