Create your own survey

An online survey generator has been developed by ThenMedia (the development company behind AudlemOnline). This allows online questionnaires and surveys to be created very easily on the Audlem website.

The questionnaire can be filled in and submitted by readers, and every entry received will be passed straight to the relevant organisation – there is no checking or moderation by AudlemOnline itself.

The first of these to be used "for real" is a survey of members' wishes that has been set up for ARS (Audlem Rambling Society). This questionnaire can be seen here (although please don't submit an actual response unless you are an ARS member).

As well as being a useful survey of members' wishes in its own right, this survey is also being used as a real test of the technology – and so far, so good!

The point of all this is that it saves the printing and distribution costs for the organisation in the first place, it is much quicker to get going and generally it gets a much better response if people can simply fill in answers online and send them in without the hassle of finding an envelope, possibly a stamp, and then remembering to deliver it.

The disadvantage, of course, is that it only works for a target readership that uses the internet, and specifically AudlemOnline, but our readership within the locality is now sufficiently high that this is much less of a disadvantage than it used to be.

This technology is freely open for use by any of the clubs, groups and organisations which use AudlemOnline – if you have such a survey or questionnaire which might usefully be done this way, then please let us know and we will see what we can do.
