Our Bagley Lane correspondent reports: "The council team are still on the job. They dried the road up by yesterday afternoon but it filled up again before the road mending gang could mend the road.

"Yesterday, seven loads of water were removed from the site and up to my visit this lunch time two more loads were removed. It appears that some slight movement of water in the road drainage system may just be happening but the Council is going to jet the system from a lower point to try improve draining and alleviate the problem.

"It is hoped that a road repair gang will be able to mend some of the potholes this afternoon. The road is in a very bad way as  photos indicate.

"May I suggest that the rumour about NASA using it for a proving ground for their vehicles may be aired on the website!"

Whether the Moon Rover seen in our third photo will cope if the water returns is the question!

Audlem Online also received a call yesterday from PC Ian Condliffe to say he had been in contact with Cheshire East via the Police Traffic Management Team and that the gulley sucker – seen in our top photograph – had been sent to the scene.
