ADAPT members visited the community gardens at Weston, to see how successfully it can be done!

The Weston Parish Council leases a 6 acre field (not all suitable for cultivation) and then in turn leases the land to the Community Gardens group. Beehives, bird or bat boxes are also promoted.

No sheds allowed!

One large polytunnel is shared and there is one container for storage.

Economics

The cost to a user for a 100-foot by 27-foot plot is £80 a year, plus the cost of water, and the farmer is about £1000 a year better off.
