Audlem's Co-op store has applied for planning consent for a new hanging sign and for new exterior display lights at its village centre store

It is seeking permission for a new suspended projection sign seven feet above the footpath and about two feet square.

The sign would be a vinyl panel with 'The Co-operative Food' letters mounted onto an wrought iron bracket and hanging from the exterior pillar nearest the village centre .

The Co-op also wants a set of four trough lighting units to replace the existing exterior lights. Each unit would be 10 feet long and about 10 inches deep and sit above the existing fascias.

Trough lights are enclosed sign lighting units that use high powered fluorescent tubes or LED lights.

It is currently one of the most popular methods of illuminating exterior signage for shop units.

The drawings submitted to Cheshire East Council show the ATM machine on the left hand side of the entrance door instead of the right but no mention is made in the plans of any intention to move the cash point from its current position.
