Today's Chronicle carries a double page spread on the Mayor's Oscars events where Audlem or local residents carried off almost a third of the awards – this despite the fact that Audlem makes up less than 2% of the Borough's population! (The website link that was here no longer works) Bill Consterdine is pictured in the newspaper with the four awards he won including the Citizen Award for 'exceptional contribution to life in the borough'. The photo to the right was shot by Bill's daughter Victoria who is quoted in the Chronicle: "We are all very proud of him. He has worked selflessly for the community and it is really nice for him to be honoured this way." The Audlem representatives who received the Mayor's Special award in recognition of all the village's recent national, regional and county awards and the launch of the Parish Plan are also pictured in the Chronicle report. As reported on www.audlem.org on Saturday, Audlem was involved in other Oscars with Maxine Nield, the daughter of Geoff and Olive Stretch, winning an award for her business 'Gift Box', while Bidi Jones and other

Audlem residents were heavily involved in the South Cheshire section of Friends of the Earth which won an Oscar for their environmental work.
