American musician, Chris Cook, is performing tonight at the Lord Combermere from around 9.00pm.
Chris has been a firm favourite in Audlem after appearing at the Music Festival over a number of years and in some legendary performances alongside local favourite Jim Kirkpatrick.
One Audlem Online review reported that a seasoned music fan described one of their gigs as amongst the best he'd ever heard in a pub – anywhere!
Chris grew up in Belmont, a small town on the outskirts of Charlotte, North Carolina, and was surrounded by music from day one. A singer-songwriter, he is comfortable playing country or rock. Chris also has a fondness for a classic R&B groove, the catchy beat of Pop, or the "from-the-gut soulfulness" of the Blues.
Chris Cook has been described as a "singer's singer" with a delivery that's pure and natural, unforced but expressive, relaxed but full of inner fire. You'll also hear a bit of Jackson Browne's earnestness and Jimmy Buffett's laid-back whimsy in there too.
Averaging 200 dates a year, Chris tours in the States and internationally. It's great to see him back in Audlem tonight.
