Yes, it does happen! A Virgin train crashed into platform buffers at Chester Station yesterday lunchtime.

The train, the 10.10am from London Euston to Chester, via Crewe, hit the platform buffers as it pulled into the station on time at 12.10pm.

One 64-year-old passenger was taken to hospital with back injuries, said the North West Ambulance Service.

Virgin said no other trains were involved and that none of the injuries was believed to be serious.
