Audlem resident Ceri Parsons is running the London Marathon at the end of this month to raise funds for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.

She says: "I have visited Battersea and attach a photo taken whilst I was there of a group shot which is a large proportion of the group who will be running the London Marathon for Battersea.

"I have also put collection boxes in the Lord Combermere and Sevi and Michelle's Dry Cleaners in case anyone passing was curious about their appearance (Battersea being a distance a way!).

"It's 25 days to D day!"

Ceri's original story about running in the Marathon appeared on AudlemOnline in February and said:

For those visitors to AudlemOnline who watch Paul O'Grady's TV show, you will know the amazing work they do as they take in every animal who needs their help and provide care for the animals in their care all 365 days of the year.

It costs £36k every day to run Battersea dogs and cats home. There are several people running to raise funds for this amazing charity and I understand Battersea are hoping our combined efforts will fund opening Battersea's doors for one day.

I'm always glad to get the friendly wave when I'm out there running as it can get a bit solitary at times, but if I don't wave back please don't be offended; I'm likely In a painful zone!

But what really also helps spur me on is the support of people who like me adore animals and want to do the best for those who are vulnerable and in urgent need. I have a just giving page:

Thank you in advance for any support you can give.
