A cautionary tale for developers

There's interesting news – well rumour to be strictly correct – that casts an interesting light on the rash of house building on controversial sites that's breaking out across Cheshire, indeed across England, following the loosening of planning under the NPPF, or National Planning Policy Framework.

An Audlem resident has told AudlemOnline that he has recently visited a village well to the north in Cheshire. Work had started on a controversial major development there after approval by the Secretary of State but has now stopped because of, we are told, "a lack of demand" for the houses.

Strange that! And is just what many people have been asking: "Where is the demand for all these new large houses?"

Please note, as houses on the estate in question are still being actively marketed, we cannot say exactly where it is and the photo is a stock photo, not of the estate in Cheshire.
