Across the UK there are 6.5 million people caring unpaid for an ill, older or disabled family member or friend. All of us will have our lives touched by caring at some point. 3 in 5 of us will be carers in our lifetime and many of us will also need care at some point in our life.
National Carers Week takes place from Monday 12 to Sunday 18 June 2017. Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
As part of this, ADCA's Carers' Support Group invites all carers to our open coffee morning on Tuesday, 13th June between 10am and 12 noon at the Lord Combermere. Coffee, cakes and lots of information and advice for carers will be available from other carers.
Audlem Carers Support Group is open to everyone who provides care support to family members, friends or neighbours. So come along and find out more about what local groups does, including our twice monthly coffee morning and regular carers breaks activity including visits to local places of interest, learning a new skill or simply having lunch together.
If you'd like to know more about the support group or the Carers' Break Days, please contact Lynn Morear, ADCA's Assistant Coordinator on 07595 919727 or email her on lynnmorear@yahoo.co.uk
